Maya Lior is a Character Designer and freelance artist based in Roswell, GA. She earned her BFA in Animation from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where she trained in traditional hand-drawn animation before transitioning into digital production.

 

Maya specializes in 2D character design and has experience working across both 2D and 3D television pipelines, contributing to projects in both Adult and Pre-K programming. In addition to her work for the screen, she designs apparel and toys, creating artwork for beloved IP characters.

 

Most recently, Maya worked as a Character Designer on Disney Junior’s Ariel, an iconic and cherished Disney property, helping bring mermaids, merlins, and vibrant under the sea creatures to life.

 

Outside of production, she enjoys painting with gouache and has recently been exploring wooden doll art. Always seeking the next creative challenge, Maya welcomes new collaborations and opportunities.
